about me
My name is Filip and I am a 193cm tall and natural lifter, and a constant student of strength training, hypertrophy training and nutrition.
It has been 17 years since I started working out and in the last 8 years I’ve been expanding my knowledge about the subject in great detail – scientifically and anecdotally with myself and other tall lifters.
I have a lot of experience with various technique issues that all of us tall guys have, especially while doing squats, bench press or deadlifts.
I was pretty frustrated because none of these lifts came naturally for me. When I decided to seriously learn how to squat it was pretty though. I watched hundreds of videos on how to squat and it never occurred to me that the issue was my height. Nobody was even talking about technique for tall guys. Same goes with pretty much everything. Gaining mass, gaining strength or fat loss.
I also have a lot of experience with bulking, how much to bulk, when to bulk and how to bulk specifically for tall guys. While things are pretty much the same for us as for everybody else, there are a few differences for tall lifters. Specifically time frames and how much to bulk etc.
Same goes for cutting weight. While everything is pretty much the same the thing with taller guys is that time frames and amounts of food are slightly different. Although I find from experience that taller guys have much less trouble with losing weight then with adding muscle mass.
You have probably seen it on Youtube but I also have a lot of experience with strength training and all the issues that goes with it for taller guys.
